Learning Practices

Purpose

The purpose of SLP is to provide sustainability-education consulting for leadership teams to develop sustainable practices that lead to team trust, accountability, and shared leadership.

Vision

The vision is to develop sustainable mindsets and practices with school, business, and nonprofit leadership teams. The focus is to improve team performance
through intentional relationships
, shared agreements, sustainable leadership,
and sustainable practices.

Mission
The mission is to connect with teams and organizations through consulting, research, workshops, and ongoing support. The goal is to develop sustainable practices that team members can consistently uphold and continuously improve.

ABOUT SLP

SLP was created and developed by four colleagues who studied together and completed a Ph.D. program in sustainability education – grounded in social and environmental justice.
They spent a year establishing an LLC and building a Shared Leadership Team program that includes an assessment model, a research system, workshops series, and certification program. In the process SLP evolved into a sustainability education consulting resource with multiple methods for working with leadership teams.

DEFINING SUSTAINABILITY

Victor Nolet is a renowned educator in the field of sustainability. In his book Educating for Sustainability he shares a quote from a 2013 Worldwatch report - "We live today in an age of sustainababble, a cacophonous profusion of uses of the word sustainable to mean anything from environmentally better to cool."

For the record, our use of the word sustainable is grounded in sustainability defined as a long-term commitment to develop consistent, continuous, and resilient mindsets, practices, habits, and behaviors.

In schools and classrooms, sustainability can mean making a long-term commitment to provide educators, students, and parents a consistent, continuous, and resilient path to learning, growth, and development.

In businesses and nonprofits, sustainability can mean making a long-term commitment to provide leadership teams the ability to achieve a consistent, continuous, and resilient workplace environment.

Who We Serve

SLP partners designed the shared leadership team program with the flexibility to serve school, business, and nonprofit leadership teams.

We are prepared to launch the program through a series of pilot projects. We invite you to investigate the opportunity.
